Care of alpaca wool garments

How to take care of your alpaca wool garment

If you want your alpaca wool garment to remain soft and fluffy,
to give you many years of pleasure, follow these simple tips.

Remember: In some cases, dry cleaning is only recommended for certain garments because of particular workmanship.
Always follow the advice indicated on the label.

AIR YOUR CLOTH OUTDOORS

Unlike other fibres, alpaca wool is extraordinary because it has the ability to self clean naturally and therefore does not need to be washed often!

Just air your garment outdoors for a day after wearing it.

For the sake of your wool garment and for our environment, only wash it when it is necessary.

WASH WITH CARE

  • Hand wash with cold water and a small amount of a mild detergent (baby shampoo or soap for fine wool). Soak for a short time, at most ten minutes. Do not rub and handle gently.
  • Rinse several times until the water is perfectly clear.
  • Do not wring but remove the water by pressing gently.
  • Wrap the garment in a terry cloth to eliminate excess water.
  • Spread on a horizontal plane taking care to avoid direct exposure to the sun.
  • Leave to dry at room temperature, never near a heat source.
  • If necessary, steam at a distance with a strong jet of steam without placing the iron directly on the garment.

FOLD AND STORE

It is advisable to fold your wool garments so that they retain their shape. Don’t hang them because its that can ruin their shape.

To keep fabric parasites away from your beautiful garment, we recommend storing it, after washing it, in your closet or drawer with cedar balls or bunches of lavender.

Remember that your woolen garment must breathe so do not put it in plastic bags, because that can create moisture, which can be harmful to the garment! Instead, use a cotton bag like the one you received with your Inkanti garment 🙂
